Have you have been in a dungeon and missed things said in party or raid chat due to your chat window being spammed by money looted and reputation gained messages? Some people keep separate chat windows, but others prefer to keep it simple. Well, now you can have your simple chat frame and still be able to keep track of chat that really matters, all while still being able to view your money looted and reputation gained information when you wish. This addon moves all of these messages to a tooltip (shown when you hover over the button next to the chat frame) so that you are free to disable the messages in your chat settings. You can also right-click the button to print this information in chat or to clear its data.

Pick for 3/14: TopFit (new)

TopFit:

Would you like to be able to take some of the thinking out of creating your gear sets? Hate comparing items in your inventory trying to find the combination that gives you the best crit chance? TopFit allows you to create item scales (so you let TopFit know which stats you value most), force/prioritize certain items (you can have a trinket equipped no matter what its stats), and give it a cap on stats like hit or defense. Then, TopFit will create the best gear set for you based on the criteria you set out. These gear sets are stored in Blizzard's Equipment Manager, so you can still use any other addon that integrates with that, too. There are more features included, and even more to be added in the future.

Pick for 3/7: Linkmate: Quests (new)

Linkmate: Quests:

Sometimes I have to accept quests quickly (moving NPC, random dungeon popping, combat, etc.) and don't have time to read them. Other times, I forget what I just read 5 seconds earlier. Then I find myself looking at the chat log thinking, "what was the name of the quest I just accepted?", so that I can open my quest log and look for it. This addon turns the "quest accepted" chat message into a clickable link for that quest. Click it and a tooltip type window appears (just like when clicking item links in chat) with the objective of the quest. If you control-click the link, then your quest log opens to the quest for you to read.

Pick for 2/28: ChatRaidIconTranslator (new)

There are two ways to display a raid icon in a chat message you send. You can either use rt1-8 (the index of the icon) or the name of the icon. "Polymorph {rt1}!" or "Polymorph {star}!" Using the indices requires you to know which number goes with which icon. The names of the icons are localized from client to client, however. This means that if a German player typed in "Polymorph {stern}", you would only see the star icon if you were also on a German client. Other players would only see the "{stern}" text. This addon will change {stern} to be {rt1} instead, meaning that you can see the star icon instead of the text. This also works for outgoing messages, meaning that other players in your group don't need the addon to have it translate for them. The addon currently supports English, French and German, with Korean coming in the next version. Feel free to submit your translations to the author!

AnyCheck:

Don't you wish that you could easily poll your raid group about certain things? Such as whether to attempt a boss again before calling it quits for the night, which instance to head to next, or which hunter would win in a duel... I remember, back in the day, using CT_RA to issue polls like this. Now, there's a newcomer to the block with this idea, allowing you to ask any question you wish, and let them choose from as many options as needed.

QuestRouterLite:

Do you want to use the game's new map features for quests, but wish you had a way to be guided along your way and pointed in the right direction? QuestRouterLite uses TomTom to show you the way to your next quest location. It updates itself automagically upon objective and quest completions. In addition to the features it already offers, the addon is still under development and more features are in the works.

Boss Mod: Text-to-Speech:

Do you ever feel like there is enough going on in a raid to read the warnings and announcements that boss mods provide? Do you wish that your raid leader always verbally announced when things were happening in the fight? Or do you just wish to hear a more pleasing voice doing it? ;) This addon takes the messages provided by BigWigs, DBM, and DXE and plays an audio clip telling you what is happening. Never miss a message again!

Pick for 2/7: Broken LFD (new), Roll Window Fix (new), & Jumper (new)

Hey folks. I apologize for the inconsistency of the Pick of the Week being "weekly" lately. Holidays and "real life" had caught up with me lately, on top of myself actually *playing* WoW again for a change. :) But we should be right back on schedule again.

I've got three picks for you this week, all of which are new addons. One is to fit a need people have been requesting, one is to fix what some see as a recent annoyance, and the other is just some plain old, silly fun. :)

Broken LFD:

Many of you have been looking for a plugin for your LibDataBroker (LDB) displays to get the LFD icon and status off of your minimap. Well, here it is. Not only does it provide all of the information that the default LFD icon/tooltip gives you, but it also lets you know how long you have been waiting in the queue so far. I know I am always thinking, "this says that my estimated wait time should be 11 mins, but it feels like I've been waiting for 20! How long have I been in this queue???" Note that you will need an LDB display to view this plugin. You can find various displays in our Data Broker download category. I am currently using Docking Station, myself, though there are many good alternatives to choose from.

Roll Window Fix:

So, you know that slider in the video options that allows you to change the scale of your UI? Well, previously it didn't actually scale every frame in the UI. The group loot roll frame was one of these. With the recent patch, 3.3.2, Blizzard changed/fixed this, and the group loot frame is now affected by your UI scale. This means that a low UI scale means a small group loot frame. Some people were complaining that this small size made it difficult to read or click on, and even difficult to notice when it popped up. So, this addon was created to prevent the group loot frame from being resized.

If you do not wish your group loot frame to resize according to UI scale, then download this addon.

Jumper:

Is your thumb glued to your space bar? Is your favorite Winnie-the-Pooh character Tigger? Like to see how many times you can make your Night Elf do a flip? Does your gnome wish they could see the world from the height of everyone else? Or do you just love to see statistics... like HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I JUMPED?

Pick for 1/24: BreadCrumbs, LFDAutoJoin, and Target For Me (all new)

Do you ever get turned around and forget which way you came from and/or which way you were going? Perhaps this happened to you while questing or farming. Never be confused again! BreadCrumbs will create a trail on your minimap, showing which way you've come from.

LFDAutoJoin:

I believe that the "image" above states the purpose of this mod quite well. LFDAutoJoin will auto accept/join a group when the dungeon popup appears. When doing so, it will play an optional/configurable, loud sound alerting you of the fact. You may choose to have the sound play always or only when your character is marked as AFK. If you auto-join while AFK, the addon will print a message that you will be back shortly. Now, you can alt-tab to look at Wowhead, read forums, or look at Dark Legacy comics. Or you can play catch with your dog before ignoring it during your dungeon run. Make a trip to the bathroom so you don't need to take a break for it later. Grab a snack. Watch TV. etc.

It is important to note that this addon should not be abused. Please don't join the queue and then go out for a walk, make a trip to the store, or have no intention of returning in a timely fashion. This will only serve you to get a bad reputation, and get the ability to auto-join dungeons removed from the game.

Target For Me:

This addon creates a macro for targeting which is automatically updated based on which boss you are currently at. You must target the boss before entering combat in order for the macro to be adjusted, as addons cannot change macros while in combat. For example, if you are at Lord Marrowgar in ICC, your macro will look like the one in the screenshot above. Using the macro will attempt to target a Bone Spike. If one does not exist, or is dead, then you will select Lord Marrowgar as your target.

Pick for 1/3: Elitist Group (new) & Extended Raid Info (new)

Elitist Group:

There has been a lot of controversy around addons which rate players based on scores lately. Many players have voiced opinions on what would make those addons better, and a frequent response is, "if you don't like , then make something better." Namescore came about as a response to that, in its own humorous way. But now, it seems as Shadowed has taken the requests of those players seeking to improve the controversial addons, and combined them into something "better". Elitist Group not only evaluates what items players have equipped, but also displays their dungeon experience, ratings/notes made by other players, etc. You really have to read the addon's description to understand what it shows and how it obtains that information, but, in short, it provides the information necessary for players to judge others for themselves.

Extended Raid Info:

Do you find the raid info panel lacking? Wish you could see more raids at a glance? Better yet, wish it would tell you just who was saved to a particular raid ID? Extended Raid Info does all this, plus displays info for each of your alts. Its author also has a few additional features planned to add in the future.
